Annoyances...

So Jason and I have been wanting to redo the kitchen for some time now, at minimum new countertops, sink, and faucet. We finally get around to drawing out a diagram of the kitchen and taking it to the local kitchen and bath place, all happy that we will get this stuff taken care of.
Well things started out mostly okay, we found a nice quartz countertop that we liked, the sample looked great in the house. But the woman we were dealing with kept talking about how expensive everything is. Like I mention I like a stainless steel sink they have on display, "oh that's expensive it's $X". I'm all, oh that's not too much for us.
We get the estimate for the quartz, it's not cheap, but well within our budget for the project so today we go down there and tell her that we are wanting the quartz and start to go over the details. But again she won't let up about how expensive everything is. She gives us a sheet with the various edge finishes we can choose from, half of which are highlighted, "choose from these ones, the other ones cost more". Um what??
"So you'll be wanting to remove the current countertop and put down the plywood yourself because if the installers do it there will be additional costs, right?" UM WHAT??
I mention how I'm interested in one of the 'industrial' looking faucets, and that I don't want one that doesn't have a metal head as well as a base, "but those cost $X!". WTF? Really lady I am aware of the costs, I'm not an idiot, I've gone to countless kitchen/bath/stone/fixture places with my parents over the years, I know what good quality looks like and the expenses involved.
It just got to be so insulting that we left without making anything concrete and now are no longer going to do business with them. Pain in the ass having to start allover since Jason and I don't have days off together, but man I'm not going to deal with people who treat me as if I am stupid and/or cheap. Please do not assume that I can't afford a big ass metal faucet in my kitchen just because I have pink hair, that's certainly how it comes across.
Bah!
Looks like it will work out in the end though, since after doing more research I found out about these new sinks that are made from granite and are supposed to be better than stainless steel though they are basically the same cost. And a rather well reviewed kitchen place in San Mateo carries the brand that manufactures them, and the same brand also makes the neat faucets that I like. I will not be denied my industrial faucet!! Haha...

I LOVE that faucet!

You should have given her a piece of your mind for all the judgment comments. Not appropriate of someone trying to SELL you something. If you want to spend your last dime (in her mind) on a counter she should be dancing about meeting her sales quotas.

That faucet reminds me mostly of the kitchen I worked in as a bus boy when I was 13. :-)
